Any DJ worth his Serato Scratch Live software knows Cedric Gervais. The French-born artist’s hits such as “Spirit in My Life” (not to mention his take on Queen’s “Another One Bites the Dust”) are staples of house DJs the world over. Although he was reared in Marseilles, Gervais is prominent on Miami’s tech-house scene. The so-called “King of South Beach” (he spins weekly at Space and has been a resident at mega-clubs like Crobar) plays a brand of house with a dark edge and sinister, minimal bass lines.
