Holiday closures
Scores of institutions will be closed Thursday in observation of New Year’s Day:
Government: All city, county, state and federal offices and courts will be closed.
Mail: No delivery; post offices will be closed.
Banks: Most will be closed.
Libraries: Most will be closed.
Schools: Public campuses will be closed.
Trash collection: None
Public transportation: MTA buses will operate on a Sunday schedule. Metrolink trains will not operate. All five Metro Rail lines (Blue, Gold, Green, Red and Purple) will be operating to get people to the Rose Bowl and Rose Parade. Shuttles will take Metro riders to the float displays and the game.
