Heat loses as O’Neal, Wade return

Danny Granger and the Indiana Pacers didn’t feel bad about spoiling Shaquille O’Neal’s return.

Granger scored 14 of his 16 points in the fourth quarter and overtime as the Pacers rallied from a 20-point second-half deficit to beat the Miami Heat, 96-94, Wednesday night at Indianapolis.

“That’s a really big emotional victory for us,” said Granger, who was 0 for 5 from the field heading into the fourth quarter. “That’s one you can build on for the rest of the season.”

O’Neal, who came off the bench after missing 35 games while recovering from knee surgery, finished with five points and five rebounds in 14 minutes.

“It’s good to be out there with the guys, but obviously there’s a lot of rust,” said O’Neal, whose first shot was blocked by Jermaine O’Neal. “The rust will wear off and I’ll get my rhythm back.”

Dwyane Wade, who missed Miami’s victory over New York on Monday because of a sprained left ankle, had 32 points and eight assists, but it wasn’t enough to stop Indiana’s comeback from a 65-45 deficit in the third quarter.

Phoenix 112, New York 107 -- Amare Stoudemire scored 26 of his 30 points in the Suns’ 63-point second half at New York to lead Phoenix to its second 15-game winning streak of the season.

Jamal Crawford scored 29 points, 23 in the fourth quarter, for New York.

Houston 90, San Antonio 85 -- Tracy McGrady had 37 points and the Rockets won at San Antonio for the second straight time after ending a 17-game losing streak there in December.

Houston also ended a three-game losing streak.

Tim Duncan had a season-high 37 points and 10 rebounds for the Spurs.

Memphis 132, Utah 130 -- Eddie Jones beat the buzzer in overtime with a 22-foot jump shot to help the Grizzlies end a 10-game road losing streak.

Pau Gasol had 17 points, 12 assists and 13 rebounds and Chucky Atkins added 29 points and 15 assists for Memphis. Carlos Boozer scored a career-high 39 points and Deron Williams had 21 assists for the Jazz, also a career best.

Philadelphia 118, Cleveland 115 -- Andre Iguodala scored eight of his career-high 34 points in the second overtime at Cleveland to help the 76ers hand the Cavaliers their second straight loss at home and fifth in their last six games.

Cleveland lost despite LeBron James scoring 13 of his season-high 39 points in the second overtime.

Golden State 110, New Jersey 109 -- Monta Ellis made a 17-foot jumper at the buzzer, and the Warriors rallied from an 11-point deficit in the final 4 1/2 minutes at Oakland.

Al Harrington scored 29 points in his first victory as a Warrior. Vince Carter had 23 points and a career-high 13 assists for the Nets.

Portland 101, Minnesota 98 -- Zach Randolph had 22 points, 15 rebounds, and two free throws with 6.3 seconds left at Portland, Ore., to help spoil Randy Wittman’s first game as the Timberwolves’ interim coach. He replaced the fired Dwane Casey.

Kevin Garnett, who missed a three-pointer at the buzzer, had 31 points for the Timberwolves, losers of five in a row.

Sacramento 114, Milwaukee 106 -- Ron Artest scored 36 points and the Kings led from start to finish at Sacramento. Ruben Patterson had 21 points for the Bucks, who fell to 1-8 without Michael Redd.

Detroit 103, Charlotte 92 -- Richard Hamilton scored 22 points as the visiting Pistons shot 52% in winning their third straight game. Gerald Wallace scored 29 for the Bobcats.

Toronto 90, New Orleans 88 -- Chris Bosh scored a season-high 35 points, including a tying three-pointer with 1:01 left, and the Raptors rallied from a 15-point fourth-quarter deficit at Toronto.

Rasual Butler had 19 points for the Hornets.

Atlanta 82, Boston 76 -- The Celtics lost their ninth in a row as Joe Johnson and Josh Smith scored 21 points apiece for the Hawks at Boston.
