Don’t miss a beat
Soulkitchen at the Red Room Saloon is not the only electronic soundscape playing in Vegas. Some other parties where deep house music is playing:
Back2Back
Jet, inside Mirage, 3400 S. Las Vegas Blvd.; (702) 693-8300
Vibe: Screens dotting the ceiling in the large circular main room display all manner of images that react to the sound booming from the speakers.
Godspeed
Foundation Room, inside Mandalay Bay, 3950 S. Las Vegas Blvd.; (702) 632-7600.
Vibe: At 5 years old, this is one of the longest-running weekly parties of any type. A sophisticated, sexy crowd.
Home
Barcode, 5150 Spring Mountain Road; (702) 221-5150
Vibe: Halo, a Chicago native and the party’s resident DJ, is a well-known figure in the underground house scene. This two-story venue -- a cross between a bar and a club -- is the site of his all-night-long baby.
Reson8
Icehouse Lounge, 650 S. Main St.; (702) 315-2570
Vibe: Though deep and progressive house music dominates the scene, this party celebrates electronica’s other subgenres, including tribal and drum ‘n’ bass.
Soundbar
Tabu, inside MGM, 3799 S. Las Vegas Blvd.; (702) 891-7183
Vibe: This party just turned 6 years old and is known for its friendly atmosphere. Stop by May 23, when San Francisco’s Miguel Migs is slated.
Temple Tuesdays
Tao, inside the Venetian, 3377 S. Las Vegas Blvd.; (702) 388-8588
Vibe: Galeano’s party happens to offer a free trip around the world of electronica with sonic flavors.
