Chrysler to Introduce Clean Diesel Pickup
Chrysler Group’s pickup truck unit said it would introduce a 6.7-liter turbocharged diesel for 2007 model Dodge Ram Heavy Duty pickups in January.
The 350-horsepower, six-cylinder engine will meet all state and federal diesel emissions requirements for heavy duty trucks, the company said.
It will be teamed with a new six-speed automatic transmission and can use a blend of 95% regular diesel fuel and 5% bio-diesel made from vegetable oils.
Both General Motors Corp. and Ford Motor Co. in recent weeks have announced new clean diesels for future models of their heavy duty pickups.
