Forensic dentist faces drug charges
From Times Wire Reports
The dentist in charge of identifying Sept. 11 victims was arrested, accused of writing illegal prescriptions and lying about it under oath. Prosecutors said Jeffrey Burkes supplied his girlfriend with 80 prescriptions for drugs such as Vicodin ES and Percocet. He’s also accused of injecting her with drugs such as Demerol.
Burkes led a team of volunteer forensic dentists that analyzed data of those killed in the 2001 World Trade Center attack.
