Iginla Helps Flames Regain Division Lead
Jarome Iginla scored his 29th and 30th goals and Miikka Kiprusoff made 26 saves to help the host Calgary Flames regain the Northwest Division lead with a 4-3 victory over the Colorado Avalanche on Monday night.
The Flames rebounded from a 3-0 loss at Denver on Sunday and moved a point ahead of second-place Colorado.
Iginla reached the 30-goal plateau for the fifth consecutive season. One of his goals against the Avalanche came on a power play in the second period.
Peter Budaj made 26 saves for the Avalanche.
Tampa Bay 2, Montreal 1 -- Sean Burke made 31 saves and Montreal-area natives Vincent Lecavalier and Martin St. Louis scored to lead the Lightning at Montreal.
The Lightning reached 72 points to move a point ahead of the Canadiens for seventh place in the Eastern Conference.
Montreal’s Cristobal Huet had his shutout streak ended at 163 minutes 11 seconds. Burke lost his shutout bid when Mike Ribeiro scored a power-play goal with 2:22 remaining.
St. Louis 3, Columbus 2 -- Christian Backman scored 3:49 into overtime at St. Louis to hand the Blue Jackets their first loss in 15 overtime games.
Patrick Lalime made 14 saves in relief of injured starter Curtis Sanford for his first win since Dec. 1.
Dallas 4, Vancouver 2 -- Mike Modano scored the go-ahead goal early in the third period and the Stars stretched their home winning streak to eight games.
Marty Turco made 26 saves to help the Stars win for the fifth time in six games and hand the Canucks their fourth consecutive loss.
