Police Ask Help Finding Boy’s Special Tricycle
Police on Monday asked for the public’s help in finding a stolen tricycle belonging to a disabled 13-year-old boy who needs it to get around.
Paralyzed on his left side as the result of a brain injury, Derek Meza used the specially modified, donated $1,200 trike to enjoy the outdoors. It was stolen from the front porch of a residence in the 1400 block of West Moore Avenue sometime between April 23 and Saturday, police said.
It has no left pedal but has a harness allowing the rider’s foot to be secured, a right brake lever and an extra-wide seat.
Anyone with knowledge of the tricycle’s whereabouts is asked to call the Santa Ana Police Department at (714) 834-4211
