Trial Begins for Suspected Militants

Seven suspected Islamic militants went on trial, four of them charged with giving aid to Al Qaeda operatives who killed Afghan resistance leader Ahmed Shah Masoud in 2001 and three charged with running guerrilla training camps.
They could get up to 10 years in prison if convicted. The court put off the trial of an eighth suspect until June 21, saying he would face only a charge of staying illegally in France.
