Full Metrolink service between Union Station and Ventura County and the Antelope Valley will return for the Monday morning commute, Metrolink officials confirmed Saturday.

Crews were putting the finishing touches this weekend on a section of track damaged in the Wednesday collision of two Metrolink trains and an idle freight train that killed 11 and injured about 180 people. The crash was triggered by a man who parked his SUV on the tracks in an apparent suicide attempt.

Both lines operated on a partial schedule Thursday and Friday while a section of track between Glendale and Burbank remained closed. Buses were used to detour passengers around that stretch.

The Ventura County line averages about 4,200 passengers a day and the Antelope Valley line about 6,800 passengers, according to Metrolink’s website.
