The Defense Department last week also identified the following American military personnel killed in Iraq:

Gunnar D. Becker, 19, of Forestburg, S.D.; private first class, Army. Becker died Thursday of noncombat-related injuries in Mosul. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 63rd Armor Regiment, 1st Infantry Division in Vilseck, Germany.

Joseph E. Fite, 23, of Round Rock, Texas; corporal, Marine Corps Reserve. Fite was killed Jan. 9 when a vehicle crashed through a checkpoint barricade in Al Anbar province and struck him. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 23rd Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, Marine Corps Reserve in Austin, Texas.

Daniel F. Guastaferro, 27, of Las Vegas; private first class, Army. Guastaferro was killed Jan. 7 when his military vehicle left the road and plunged into a canal in Ramadi, west of Baghdad. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team at Camp Casey, Korea.

Matthew W. Holloway, 21, of Fulton, Texas; lance corporal, Marine Corps Reserve. Holloway was one of two Marines killed Thursday in enemy action in Al Anbar province. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 23rd Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, Marine Corps Reserve in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Brian A. Mack, 36, of Phoenix; sergeant first class, Army. Mack was killed Thursday when his military vehicle was struck by an improvised explosive device in Mosul. He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 21st Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division at Ft. Lewis, Wash.

William F. Manuel, 34, of Kinder, La.; staff sergeant, Army National Guard. Manuel was one of two soldiers killed Monday when an improvised explosive device struck their military vehicle in Baghdad. He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 156th Infantry Regiment, 256th Infantry Brigade, Army National Guard in Lake Charles, La.

Dwayne J. McFarlane Jr., 20, of Cass Lake, Minn.; specialist, Army. McFarlane was killed Jan. 9 when his dismounted patrol was struck by an improvised explosive device in Baghdad. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 15th Field Artillery Regiment, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry) at Ft. Drum, N.Y.

Michael J. Smith, 24, of Media, Pa.; specialist, Army. Smith was killed Tuesday when his military vehicle was struck by a rocket-propelled grenade in Ramadi, west of Baghdad. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 503rd Infantry, 2nd Infantry Division at Ft. Carson, Colo.

Robert W. Sweeney III, 22, of Pineville, La.; sergeant, Army National Guard. Sweeney was one of two soldiers killed Monday when an improvised explosive device struck their military vehicle in Baghdad. He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 156th Infantry Regiment, 256th Infantry Brigade, Army National Guard in Lake Charles, La.

Juan R. Rodriguez Velasco, 23, of El Cenizo, Texas; lance corporal, Marine Corps Reserve. He was one of two Marines killed Thursday in enemy action in Al Anbar province. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 23rd Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, Marine Corps Reserve in Corpus Christi, Texas.
