When Did the Football Become So Un-Super?
Too bad about the Super Bowl. It used to be an interesting sports event, but this year we got a combination political rally and commercial fest, with a little football in between.
The presence of veterans and serving soldiers whipped the crowd into a patriotic frenzy, while the pregame and halftime shows were prepackaged, spiffy clean, carefully choreographed, sad imitations of rock concerts. This scripted technique, perfected by politicians making road appearances, has become network reality. Super poor taste.

My congratulations go out to the New England Patriot fans here in the Southland. You can all go home now.
