Liberia Peacekeepers Accused of Sex Abuse
From Times Wire Reports
Some U.N. peacekeepers sexually abused and exploited local women and girls in Liberia, a U.N. spokesman said.
“The allegations range from the exchange of goods, money or services for sex to the sexual exploitation of minors,” Stephane Dujarric said. “The peacekeeping department here in New York as well as the mission on the ground are taking appropriate follow-up action.”
A U.N. official said four nations contributed members to the Liberian mission. The official declined to name them.
