25 Years to Life for Killer of Jewelry Store Owner

A Canadian man convicted of first-degree murder in a 1998 holdup that left a Lake Forest jewelry store owner dead and her husband in a coma was handed a sentence Friday of 25 years to life in prison.
James Jordan Priel, of Vancouver was 21 when he robbed the Jewel Garden.
Nancy Sleiman, 51, was fatally shot and her husband, Mike, 53, was shot in the head and left in a coma from which he recovered.
Priel was sentenced at Orange County Superior Court in Santa Ana.
