Sam Rubin is suspended by KTLA
KTLA-TV Channel 5 suspended entertainment reporter Sam Rubin for a week after he made satirical remarks on Monday’s morning news program about the show’s temporary news set.
Other news personalities on the show also joked about the poor quality of their surroundings, with one saying it sounded as if they were in a toilet. Rubin jokingly thanked a local high school for lending them the set.
KTLA executives were unavailable for comment Tuesday and Rubin declined to comment. He will return Tuesday.
Rubin has been suspended twice before, for remarks about the station’s former assistant news director and about another L.A. station’s general manager.
KTLA is owned by Tribune Co., which also owns the Los Angeles Times.
