The Kansas City Royals are not just winless since trading Carlos Beltran. They’re being embarrassed.

David Newhan had three hits, including a two-run homer, and the Baltimore Orioles ended a seven-game road losing streak Monday night with a 10-1 victory over the Royals at Kansas City, Mo.

The loss was the fifth in a row for the preseason American League Central favorites, who are 0-4 since Beltran went to Houston in a three-team deal.

“Whenever you lose your best player, of course everybody is going to be thinking about it,” Manager Tony Pena said. “But we must put it aside. Carlos Beltran does not play for Kansas City anymore.”

Newhan also singled twice for only the second three-hit game of his career. He also set a career high with three runs scored.

“It’s getting to the point where I expect him to get a hit every time up,” Manager Lee Mazzilli said.

Tampa Bay 10, Toronto 2 -- Victor Zambrano pitched six solid innings at St. Petersburg, Fla., to win his fifth consecutive decision.

Geoff Blum and Jose Cruz Jr. homered in support of Zambrano (8-4), who hasn’t lost in nine starts since May 15. The right-hander gave up two runs and seven hits, walked four and struck out three before being replaced by Jesus Colome.

Tampa Bay improved to a major-league-best 27-8 since May 20 and climbed back over .500 (37-36) two days after becoming the first team in major league history to get above the break-even point after being 18 games below.

The Mariners have lost six out of seven.
