Dark knight: Warner Bros. Animation is producing yet another series about Batman, this one for its WB channel and the Cartoon Network. Called “The Batman,” it will follow the superhero’s exploits in his mid-20s, when he encounters such characters as Joker, Penguin and the Riddler for the first time.

DVD debuts: The first three “Star Wars” films will be released on DVD for the first time Sept. 21 in a four-disc package that will include a new documentary about the famed saga. And from the television vaults, the first season of “The Waltons” will make its digital debut.
