Man Dies, Teen Hurt in Freeway Shooting
An 18-year-old man was killed and a teenage boy was critically wounded Saturday in a freeway shooting, authorities said.
A gunman pulled up in a vehicle and shot into their car as it merged onto the San Gabriel River Freeway from Los Angeles Street about 3:40 a.m., said Deputy Scott Butler of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
A man riding with the victims said he had been asleep in the back seat during the shooting, Butler said. Sheriff’s investigators have no description of the gunman or the car involved in the shooting. The victims’ names were withheld pending notification of their family.
Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call (323) 890-5500.
