Getty Land Deal

Re “Getty Deal Raises Questions,” Dec. 20: For all the good Eli Broad has done for Los Angeles -- philanthropies, vision for our future and employment for our people -- it is hard to believe your newspaper would spend the time and energy on such a negative cover story. Real estate transactions are done a myriad of ways and appraisals change with appraisers. Seven hundred thousand dollars cannot be such a big deal to the J. Paul Getty Trust, Los Angeles or The Times.
