An Indian War Hero, but Only on Video

An Indian army officer who used civilian porters to pose as dead Pakistani soldiers in videotapes was jailed for three years for faking heroic battles in an attempt to earn a promotion, a news agency reported.
A court-martial held in the northwestern city of Jodhpur also dismissed Maj. Surinder Singh from service, Press Trust of India said.
He was found guilty of taping fake clashes with the Pakistani army in August and September last year at the Siachen Glacier in Kashmir, the agency said.
