Global Codependence Has Its Limits for U.S.
Re “U.S. Is More Customer Than Big Global Debtor,” James Flanigan, Nov. 28:
The theory of codependence is like when you owe the bank $1,000, you are in trouble; when you owe the bank $10 million, the bank is in trouble.
At some point in the future, the debt has to be redeemed, and if we don’t have goods at good prices at that time that people want, there is no way to redeem the debt.
