City Challenges County Over Rancho Approval
From Times Staff Reports
Mission Viejo officials said Thursday that they have filed a lawsuit challenging county approval last month of the Rancho Mission Viejo development plan.
The suit alleges, among other things, that the county did not adequately account for the amount of traffic the project will add to the city’s streets and that the proposed mitigation measures are insufficient.
County officials have stood by their findings.
The development proposes as many as 14,000 homes and other structures on the 23,000-acre property.
