Mother of Missing Teen Seeks to Keep Billboards
From Times Wire Reports
The mother of missing Cal Poly student Kristin Smart, who disappeared in 1996, is trying to keep two U.S. 101 billboards.
“We want to keep Kristin’s memory alive,” Denise Smart of Stockton said this week. “Billboards are the only way we can remind people that she’s still missing after eight years. It’s the only gift we can give to her to make sure she’s not forgotten.”
The mother needs $3,000 to keep the rented billboards.
Kristin Smart, 19, disappeared after a Memorial Day weekend party near Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, where she was a freshman.
