A Solution in Tax E-Filing Battle
There is a way for tax firms and the state to work together on e-filing (“Tax Firms Battle State Over E-Filing Services,” Nov. 17).
Tax firms should be permitted to bill the state a regulated fee for e-filing on behalf of their customers. The state could also provide a simple online form for people who do not choose to use tax software.
This way, everyone in the state with Internet access could e-file without paying a fee.
