High Country Roads Will Reopen Today
From Times Wire Reports
Tioga Pass, the popular Highway 120 route that traverses Yosemite National Park’s high country, and Glacier Point Road will reopen today for the first time this year. Both roads are typically opened by Memorial Day weekend, but late spring snow this year kept officials from clearing the routes because of avalanche dangers and icy conditions.
Services and camping facilities will not be available on the roads until later in the season.
