BOYS’ BASKETBALL
* Stephen Becker, Huntington Beach Marina: Scored 23 points, including six in the overtime period, in a 75-68 victory over No. 15 Bellflower St. John Bosco in the Sonora-Troy tournament. Matt Brennan had 21 points for the Chargers.
* Shane Nicholas, Palm Springs Desert Chapel: Had 32 points and five steals in an 83-68 nonleague victory at Whitewater, which suffered its first loss to the Eagles in four years.
GIRLS’ BASKETBALL
* Latara Darrett, Chino Don Lugo: Had 40 points, 12 rebounds and five steals for the Conquistadores in an 82-52 victory over Covina Charter Oak in the San Dimas tournament.
* Brandi Jones-Fitzgerald, Moreno Valley Canyon Springs: Had 32 points and 15 rebounds in a 78-26 victory over Glendora St. Lucy’s in the Arroyo tournament. Jennifer Risper had 19 points and 10 assists for the Cougars.
GIRLS’ WATER POLO
* Jillian Kraus, Santa Ana Foothill: Scored five goals for the No. 1-ranked Knights in a 10-7 nonleague victory at No. 5 Montebello.
