Brown Gets Three Goals as Revolution Upsets Fire

Chris Brown scored three goals as the New England Revolution ended a nine-match winless streak on Saturday with a 5-1 victory over the Chicago Fire in front of 10,846 at Foxboro, Mass.

Brown had only two goals in 18 matches with Kansas City before being traded to New England on Aug. 20. He scored in the seventh, 63rd and 66th minutes on Saturday.

The Revolution (6-8-8) was 0-5-4 in its previous nine matches since beating Colorado on June 28.

Andy Williams scored his second goal of the season in the 14th minute to tie it for Chicago. The Fire (11-5-6) had a seven-match unbeaten streak ended.

Brian Kamler scored his sixth goal of the season on a 22-yard shot in the 44th minute to give New England a 2-1 lead.

Brown completed his hat trick with a left-footed shot from 12 yards out with an assist from rookie Pat Noonan.

Colorado 2, San Jose 1 -- John Spencer had a goal and an assist to lead the Rapids in front of 10,116 at San Jose. Colorado (9-9-4) ended a six-game unbeaten streak for San Jose (11-4-7).
