Wildfire That Destroyed 31 Homes Is Contained
From Times Wire Reports
Fire crews have contained the blaze in the mountains between San Jose and Santa Cruz that destroyed 31 homes and outbuildings.
The Croy fire was contained at about 3,130 acres. The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection expects to have the fire extinguished by Oct. 11.
The wildfire began Monday, and became one of the area’s largest in decades. More than 2,100 personnel from around the state battled the blaze, which investigators believe originated inside a trailer.
