LAX Terminal Evacuated After Security Breach
Authorities on Sunday afternoon evacuated a busy terminal at Los Angeles International Airport for two hours after an unidentified man skirted a security checkpoint, police said.
The man went the wrong way through a checkpoint at Terminal 4 about 11:48 a.m. and disappeared into the crowd, prompting officers to clear the terminal and search it for suspicious activity. The man was not found, LAPD Officer Jack Richter said.
“They searched and determined there was no threat,” Richter said. The terminal, which serves flights for American and American Eagle airlines, reopened at 1:50 p.m. Only outbound flights were affected, an airport spokesman said.
