Two Held After Fight, Stabbing at Party
Two suspects were arrested early Saturday after a fight at an Irvine apartment complex in which one man was stabbed and another injured by punches and kicks to the head.
Carlos Gomez, 19, of Tustin, and a 16-year-old male accomplice, also from Tustin, were arrested at the scene. Gomez was booked into Orange County Jail. The teenager was taken to Juvenile Hall.
Irvine police said Gomez stabbed John Fagardo, 19, during an argument at a party and tried to flee with his younger companion. Sebastian Ortiz, 18, went to Fagardo’s aid and was attacked when he pursued the two suspects.
Fagardo was in good condition at a local hospital, and Ortiz was treated and released at the scene. Both are Irvine residents.
