Haddan, Pasciuto Have Top Times
Juniors Michael Haddan of Irvine Woodbridge and Liza Pasciuto of Murrieta Valley had the top individual boys’ and girls’ times in the Woodbridge Invitational cross-country meet on Saturday.
Haddan, defending state champion in the 800 meters, outkicked Babey Wagnew of La Mesa Helix to win the Division II junior boys’ race with a 14-minute 25-second clocking over the flat three-mile course.
Haddan defeated Wagnew by three seconds and moved to second on the all-time course list behind a 14:20 clocking by Agoura’s Ryan Wilson in 1992.
Pasciuto won the Division I girls’ race for the second consecutive year to lead Murrieta Valley to a 66-91 victory over runner-up Fountain Valley.
Pasciuto timed 17:31 to edge senior Bethany Nickless of Fountain Valley by two seconds.
