Color me pink
“We’re all pink on the inside.” -- Pink
Dye your hair
Pasty-faced Brits and angry punk rockers have been coloring their locks a variety of hues since the early ‘70s, but there’s still something about hair aberration that riles authority figures. Make an anti-conformist statement or reclaim your individualism with a box of peroxide and Day-Glo green.
Try one name only
Beck, Sting, Bono, Shakira -- it works! Take your cue from Pink and select a moniker that is strangely innocent, baffling and slightly threatening. If you opt for a color as name, match it to your newly dyed hair.
Say it loud
Even though she is neatly packaged as teen pop, Pink is never afraid to be a publicist’s nightmare. Instead of Britney’s squeaky clean, Pink is rough around edges, speaking her mind with a mouth like a truck driver.
Leave ‘em guessing
After releasing the sugar-sweet R&B; assemblage “Can’t Take Me Home,” Pink upset the status quo by going gritty for last year’s “Missundaztood.” Raunchy and rolling party anthems were part of a new package, with Pink getting wild in the studio with folks like rockers Steven Tyler and Richie Sambora.
Believe in yourself
Discouraged by teachers and mocked by her peers, Pink persisted in her pursuit of the mega-celebrity dream. Look who’s laughing now.
