Angel Fan Is Looking for Another Winner

Jason Wroth will be very interested in how Buzzin On By, a 2-year-old maiden gelding, fares in tonight’s third race at 350 yards.

Wroth, a corporate consultant who is married and has three children ranging in age from 2-5, was the winner of a giveaway during the Angels’ fan appreciation night Sept. 29.

His prize? For the remainder of the Los Alamitos meet, he will have fantasy ownership of Buzzin On By, meaning he will collect $1,000 each time the horse wins, $500 for a runner-up effort, $250 if the horse runs third and $100 for each start. Buzzin On By was third in his first try for Wroth on Oct. 10.

Buzzin On By, a California-bred who has been unable to win in eight starts, will break from post four in the field of eight and will be ridden by leading jockey Ramon Sanchez.

Shots in the dark: Echo Boomer makes her local debut in the fifth for trainer Blane Schvaneveldt. Zippy Chilli Pepper makes her first start here in the seventh for trainer Lin Melton.
