Supervisors Reject Plan for Ads in Jails

Tulare County has shelved a plan to sell advertising space in its jails. Supervisors voted 4 to 1 against a proposal to let bail bond operators advertise in jail booking rooms. The advertising was expected to raise about $50,000 a year to help the county during the state budget crunch.
