5 Arrested in Robbery of Grocery Store
Five men remained in custody Wednesday night on suspicion of participating in an armed takeover-style robbery of a small grocery and fleeing with the cash register.
The five are suspected of storming into Rancho Sunset Market on North Oak Street about 3 p.m. Tuesday, inflicting minor stab wounds on an employee and stealing his wallet. A customer’s purse was also taken.
The suspects were found in a riverbed area with the cash register, authorities said..
Booked into jail on suspicion of several felonies were Jose Perez Garcia, 34, Juan Carlos Laguna, 31, Antonio Zapian, 22, and Pablo Sandoval, 20, all of Santa Paula; and Benjamin Aguirre, 26, of Fillmore.
