Victorious Angels: The Team That Could
Now I believe in the little engine that could. Now I believe that if you work hard enough it will happen ... that perseverance brings results. Now I know if you believe in yourself you can do anything. I now know that there is no such thing as a curse, no such thing as bad luck, that you can make your own luck. Now I truly believe that good guys finish first. Now I believe in destiny: The Angels have won the World Series (Oct. 28).
Thanks for restoring my youthful beliefs; thanks for a wonderful year!

Congratulations to the Angels (and Giants). It was one of the most exciting, dramatic, nail-biting World Series that I, and many Padres fans, have witnessed in decades. To have a series without the likes of the Yankees, Dodgers and Braves was fantastic! Mike Scioscia and company kept all of us San Diego baseball fans turned on and tuned in. Thank you, Autry Angels, for the wild “E-Ticket” ride. It was worth the wait.

One of the parades held to honor the Angels was down Main Street at Disneyland. The theme park charged full admission price to watch it. Couldn’t Michael Eisner have hosted the parade for the loyal fans who have supported the ball club for the past four decades? Talk about a Mickey Mouse operation!
