CBS Cancels Sitcom ‘Bram and Alice’
CBS has canceled “Bram and Alice,” a new sitcom starring Alfred Molina that had been airing Sunday nights. The program is produced by Paramount Television, which like CBS is a unit of Viacom Inc. Paramount had attempted to shop the series -- which comes from former producers of the studio’s long-running hit “Frasier” -- to other networks, without success, sources said.
CBS has not announced a replacement for the time period and probably will air reruns of its comedies to fill the void. The network is working on a series adaptation of the hit movie “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” that could occupy that half-hour beginning next year. “Bram and Alice” represents CBS’ first cancellation of the new TV season.
