Prosecutor Drops Hijacking Inquiry
From Times Wire Reports
A Swedish prosecutor dropped a hijacking probe of a man who boarded a plane with a loaded gun in his luggage.
Kerim Chatty, 29, was freed last month after spending four weeks in jail on suspicion of planning to hijack a London-bound airliner. At that time, chief prosecutor Thomas Haeggstroem said suspicion had waned.
Though Haeggstroem dropped the probe, he said Chatty could still face a weapons charge in the Aug. 29 incident.
