6 Alleged ‘Sleeper Cell’ Members Enter Pleas
From Times Wire Reports
Six alleged members of what has been termed a terrorist sleeper cell pleaded not guilty to charges they trained at an Al Qaeda camp in Afghanistan attended by Osama bin Laden.
The six U.S. citizens of Yemeni descent are from Lackawanna, a Buffalo suburb.
Authorities said the charges are largely based on allegations that in the spring of 2001 they attended the terrorist training camp, where Bin Laden declared there “is going to be a fight against Americans.”
