Mechanical Problems Force Plane’s Return
From Times Wire Reports
Mechanical problems forced an American Airlines flight to make an emergency landing at Mineta International Airport here Thursday afternoon.
The airplane, carrying 30 passengers and crew, was bound from San Jose to Boston. No injuries were reported.
Minutes after takeoff at 1:30 p.m., the pilot of the Boeing 767 reported hydraulic problems, said airport spokesman Steve Luckenbach.
It circled back and landed without incident at 1:54 p.m. The hydraulic system stabilizes the flaps and tail on takeoff, Luckenbach said.
