From Times Wire Reports

An American nurse detained in Indonesia’s troubled Aceh province for alleged visa violations has gone on a hunger strike to protest delays in her trial, her attorney said. Joy Lee Sadler of Iowa was arrested in September with Lesley McCulloch, a Scottish-born researcher from Australia’s Tasmania University.

They have been charged with violating the terms of their tourist visas by contacting rebels of the Free Aceh Movement. Both deny the charges, which carry a maximum five-year jail sentence.
