Firefighters in Hot Water Over Pinups
It is a shame that firefighters on the Los Padres Hot Shots are under investigation for pictures being hung in a fire truck (“A Pinup-Picture Dispute Burns Out of Control,” Opinion, Nov. 10). The men and one woman of the station approved of each other’s pictures before hanging them on the walls and ceiling of the rig. The magazine cutouts are fun and personalize the fire truck for this team.
As long as Monika Miller (the only female on the squad) and the other firemen are not insulted by any of the pictures, then the cutouts should be hung. Whoever “got a peek” at the inside of the fire rig should be ashamed about causing all of this commotion over a few pictures. Hanging the pictures is like a student decorating his or her dorm room. I hope society has something better to do than harass its heroes.
