Weight Watchers More Than Doubles Profit

Weight Watchers International Inc. said third-quarter profit more than doubled as sales jumped.
The Woodbury, N.Y.-based weight-loss counseling company reported net income of $36.8 million, or 34 cents a share, up from $16.1 million, or 14 cents a share, a year ago.
Revenue jumped 31%, to $189.2 million from $144.1 million.
Weight Watchers shares closed at $43.70, down $4.70 on the NYSE.
