Lineup Card Changes for Goaltenders Again

OTTAWA —  Jamie Storr had been penciled in to start for the Kings Friday, but as Coach Andy Murray has often shown with his backup goaltender, pencils have erasers. Felix Potvin made his 11th start in 14 games.

“We felt that Felix needed to play tonight,” Murray said before the game. “Sometimes you use your feel as a coaching staff [as to] what the situation dictates. Felix is our No. 1 guy and we’re trying to get a win here tonight to get the feeling going again, so we’re going with him.”

Left unsaid was that Storr has struggled. He hadn’t lost a start since last November, a 7-0-1 streak, before a 5-1 loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets on Oct. 27.

Monday, he gave up three goals in a 5-2 loss to the Minnesota Wild.

Mikko Eloranta is listed as week to week after suffering a sprained left knee Tuesday night against the San Jose Sharks, but the Kings fear he could be sidelined for as long as six weeks. He was put on injured reserve to make room on the roster for defenseman Aaron Miller. With Miller back in the lineup, Brad Norton and Andreas Lilja were scratched.... Ken Belanger, who suffered a concussion against the Sharks, was unavailable to play Friday.
