Pavol Demitra had a goal and two assists as the St. Louis Blues extended their NHL-best winning streak to nine games with a 5-2 victory over the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday night at Montreal.

Rookie Eric Boguniecki scored twice, and Martin Rucinsky and Doug Weight also scored for St. Louis. Fred Brathwaite stopped 13 shots for his fifth consecutive victory.

The Blues, who outshot Montreal 36-15, are undefeated in 10 games since a season-opening loss to the Ducks and have won each of their five road games.

St. Louis had a team-record 10-game winning streak last Jan. 3-23.

Philadelphia 2, Carolina 1 -- John LeClair scored his 300th goal with the Flyers with 3:04 left in overtime as Philadelphia extended its winning streak to six in a row with a victory at Raleigh, N.C.

LeClair pounded a rebound past Kevin Weekes to run Philadelphia’s unbeaten streak to seven (6-0-1). Justin Williams had a goal and an assist for Philadelphia.

Toronto 4, Tampa Bay 3 -- Alexander Mogilny scored three goals, including the game-winner with 2:22 to play, as the Maple Leafs rallied at Toronto.

The Maple Leafs finished their homestand 2-4-1. Mogilny got his 16th career hat trick, Ed Belfour made 34 saves and Darcy Tucker also scored for Toronto.

Washington 4, Columbus 3 -- Peter Bondra scored two goals, including the game-winner with 3.3 seconds left in overtime, as the Capitals won at Columbus, Ohio.

With time running out, Michael Nylander slipped a pass through the crease to Bondra, who had a nearly empty net on the weak side and easily beat Blue Jacket goaltender Marc Denis for his seventh goal.

Chicago 2, Detroit 0 -- Jocelyn Thibault made 18 saves for his 29th career shutout, and Steve Sullivan and Andrei Nikolishin scored to lead the Blackhawks at Detroit.

Thibault shut out the Red Wings at Joe Louis Arena for the second time in less than a year. He was the last goaltender to shut out the Stanley Cup champions in Detroit on Dec. 17, 2001.

Calgary 3, New Jersey 2 -- Chris Drury scored the go-ahead goal early in the third period to lead the Flames at East Rutherford, N.J. Backup goalie Jamie McLennan made 20 of his 31 saves in the third period as Calgary extended its unbeaten streak to four.

New York Rangers 5, Edmonton 2 -- Radek Dvorak had a goal and two assists, and Tom Poti set up two goals against his former team at New York as the Rangers ended a three-game losing streak.
