U.S. Offers $5 Million for Kidnappers’ Capture

The U.S. offered a reward of up to $5 million for the capture of leaders of Abu Sayyaf, the group that has held an American couple hostage for a year.
U.S. Ambassador Francis J. Ricciardone Jr. said the reward is for any of the leaders, including Abu Sabaya, the organizer of the raid in which three Americans and 17 Filipinos were abducted. One American was beheaded.
