Plan to Preserve Land in Big Sur
Re “Big Sur Deal Will Save Nearly 10,000 Acres,” May 10: I was thrilled to hear about the sale of 10,000 acres in Big Sur to the Nature Conservancy and the Big Sur Land Trust. This is an excellent example of successful collaboration among the private, public and nonprofit sectors.
My congratulations and sincere thanks to all those involved. Although I now reside on the other side of the continent, I lived in Monterey for two years and fondly recall hiking and camping in the Santa Lucia Mountains and along the glorious coastline. Californians are truly blessed.
