New Science Program for Teachers Offered
Cal Lutheran University is looking for schoolteachers who want to participate in the first Amgen Summer Science Institute, which begins in June.
The program will consist of six weeklong courses on topics ranging from marine science to human genetics.
Funding for the project--aimed at helping middle and high school educators discover better ways to teach science--comes from a $60,000 grant from the Thousand Oaks biotechnology firm Amgen. Each session will end with a seminar led by experts from the community and a workshop on technical writing for students.
Fifteen spots are available for each workshop, which costs $150. For registration forms or more information, call 493-3420.
