4% Fewer Americans Traveling This Spring
About 4% fewer Americans will be taking leisure trips this spring than last, according to a forecast released this month by the Travel Industry Assn. of America.
“Despite the decline in travel this spring, the numbers aren’t as bad as we had feared,” said William S. Norman, president and CEO of the industry group. He noted that the expected volume of travel is about equal to the total for March through May 2000.
