Let Banks Sell Property
So the American Bankers Assn. has sent more than 54,000 letters to Congress (“Bills Would Block Banks From Selling Real Estate,” March 17) in an effort to pressure lawmakers to defeat proposed legislation.
On the other side we have the California Assn. of Realtors and the National Assn. of Realtors mounting their agents in an effort to push the legislation through.
But wait a minute ... for the last 20 years real estate agents, brokers and most national franchised real estate offices have been offering everything from mortgages, escrows, title insurance and termite repairs--all in the name of service.
Seems to me what is good for the “golden goose” real estate industry should be good for the “gander” banking industry.
